When it was introduced, the Mach 1 was the fastest 250cc road bike available – it was capable of topping 100 miles per hour.
Because of this, it was idolized by riders all around the world, and it’s become quite the popular classic. Motociclismo magazine summarized this bike by saying “The latest model from this illustrious brand is without a doubt one of the best sports 250’s available today, for its technical features, style, and rideability. Particularly noteworthy are the powerful SOHC engine with five speed gearbox, powerful acceleration, excellent road handling, and efficient braking.”
This example is being offered by a seller that impressively owns four Ducati Mach 1s. This isn’t 100% complete – the horn switch and brake lever spring need to be attached, plus there’s “some other very minor details”, a set of words I find ominous when there’s no elaboration. Despite this, the seller says he has “completely gone through this motorcycle and sourced the best possible parts to complete this rare gem,” so I’d have a long conversation with him about what “completely gone through” and “very minor details” mean.
