Post Listing Update: This Scrambler got no action at the BIN of $5,800.
In 1962 the North American importer for Ducati convinced the factory to bring out the ‘Scrambler’ series. These bikes were exclusive to the North American market offered from 1962 to 1976 in several variations.
1965 Scramblers were basically a remake of street legal Ducatis that were sold in Europe. They apparently sold well for Ducati and by 1968 the Scrambler was a unique model. In 1965 they used a 249cc single overhead cam unit with a Dell’orto carb. The engine put 18 HP through a wet clutch 5 speed transmission. Adjustable suspension and very good brakes with a low 310 LB weight made a very attractive package.
This particular bike (VIN: DM 250 89582) currently resides in Taos, New Mexico. Said to be a barn find in Colorado that was last registered in 1973 and said to be running now. There are quite a few people watching this, so I don’t expect it to last long – find it with a BIN of $5,800 or best offer
