Offered by one of the owners of The Classic Bike Experience in Essex, Vermont, this Triumph TR6SC is one of just 346 sold in 1965 (and just 656 produced in total). Consider it a follow-up to yesterday’s TR6SR.
The SC kept the small 2.3 gallon gas tank of the “C” model and added normal gear ratios, alloy fenders, and a silencer on the exhaust.
Impressively, this is a one-owner bike with quite a story (fully laid out in the listing). But the owner was working at a motorcycle shop in ’64 as someone who put together bikes after they were shipped over in crates. He found that just 2 SC’s had been allocated to New England so he grabbed one. Fast forward many years – for a while it was his only form of transportation, then he left it with a friend for a couple of years before he had to enlist in the Army. The bike was enjoyed regularly until ’77, but in 2009 he started restoring it back to life. 5 years later, it was finished – “it is not complete and needs completion of the initial break-in period, having been run about 65 miles in test and fettling.” I recommend you go through the listing just for the seller’s story.
