Montgomery Wards offered two versions of this moped during the mid-60s, both of which were produced by Benelli. Riders had the option of the deluxe 250-D, which came with a steel leg shield, passenger pegs, tool pouch, and other features, while the base 150-D was a bit more frugal. Here’s an example of the latter that’s claimed to be in excellent condition.
This bike confuses me a bit because the base 150-D is supposed to have a saddle seat instead of the long seat from the 250-D, but that may have just been added on at some point in this bike’s history. The 49cc Benelli engine is paired to an automatic clutch and single-speed transmission for easy (and slow) riding. This example got new paint and decals two years ago and the seller says everything works just fine.
