Post Sale Update:  After 16 bids, this Honda Superhawk sold for $3,900 on eBay.

The Honda Superhawk, internally designated as the CB77, has the distinction of being Honda’s first sportbike. This bike, in many ways like the Vincent Black Shadow, set the template for the next 20 years of motorcycles. Unlike the Black Shadow, though, the Superhawk was known for both speed and reliability, and it would lead to several future classic Hondas like the Black Bomber (CB450) and the ubiquitous CB750.

Honda Superhawk CB77 - 1

This specific Honda Superhawk is mechanically sound, and has only covered less than 3500 miles over almost 50 years. The current seller has had the bike since 1972, and is only the second owner, so hopefully he or she will be able to explain why this bike has barely covered any miles over its life. Make sure that all the gaskets and rubber aren’t suffering from dry rot!

Honda Superhawk CB77 - 2

This Honda Superhawk is a runner, and could use a little bit of work, including a minor tune up, a battery, rubber pegs and tires/tubes. Take care of those minor needs and you’ll have a beautiful rider in very original condition.
