Post-Sale Update: After 24 bids on eBay, this Norton Featherlastic sold for $6,801.
When most people think of a mongrel Norton, they think of the Triton – a Triumph engine in a Norton Featherbed frame. But there’s also a much rarer take on the subject, and it’s called the Norton Featherlastic. An engineering exercise by Randy Ullery and Mike Haracourt of Tucson, Arizona, the Featherlastic combines the Featherbed frame with the Isolastic engine, keeping it all within the Norton family.
The seller suggests that a run of about 10 of these bikes were produced in one go, and that this is one of those original few. I unfortunately can’t verify that, but here’s an interesting series on “building a Featherlastic” if you’re looking to learn more.
This specific Norton Featherlastic has 2,000 miles and combines a ’67 frame with a ’71 750cc Isolastic motor. It features belt drive, Sparks ignition, Mikuni carb, Akron rims, Dave Dickerson triple trees, Corbin seat, NTC shocks – you get the idea.
