Post Sale Update: This Bushwacker sold for $1,826 after 31 bids on eBay in Sanford, Florida, but there’s a lot more to the story. From commenter Rod down below: “Abhi, did you know I was awarded this bike. Then the seller backed out! His made up high bid was $1850 I believe. My top bid was $1325 I think. He then let me know I could buy it, so I did for My bid. Afterwards he said he needed $1500 to do the deal. I screamed foul, talked to him on the phone and he said the top bidder came through. When I complained to eBay, they had no way of forcing him to sell it to me, and said they “may take action”.
1968 was the first year for Kawasaki’s adorably-named Bushwhacker, a 175cc dual-sport with a motor evolved from earlier F1 and F2 models. If you squint, it almost resembles a baby Honda CL77.
The F3 motor produced 20 horsepower with rotary valve induction, and period Kawasaki marketing materials touted the “stylish upswept exhaust”. For more specifications, check out this page on Zedder Enterprises.
This example is said to be in mint condition due to a “nut and bolt restoration”. In fact, the seller boldly claims that this is “the most perfect 1968 Bushwacker F3 175 you will find”. Everything is said to work but the oil injection system has been manually disconnected. The odometer shows 2,303 miles and the sale does not have a title, just a bill of sale.
