The “B” stands for “Bicylindrico”, as this MV Agusta utilizes a 250cc four-stroke twin cylinder motor.
The 250B was available in light blue or red with a black frame. Either way, you’d get a 246.6cc motor that produced 19 horsepower at 7,800 rpm, 22mm carbs, and a 5-speed transmission. It weighed just 313 pounds. Claimed top speed was 84 miles per hour, and it returned approximately 42 miles per gallon assuming you weren’t constantly trying to hit the top speed.
This MV has been restored, and the seller believes that it’s one of just 200 examples that were imported to the US. With that said, the 250B was well-known for having a stepped seat, so a thorough investigation of the restoration may be warranted. The odometer shows about 66k kilometers (~41k miles), though it’s spent the last decade on display in a private collection. In a different listing on Bring a Trailer, the seller says that “the bike does run, and rides, but will need some fine tuning before you get out and ride it daily.”
Though the bike is from 1959, it’s currently titled as a ’68 in California. This MV was recently for sale on Bring a Trailer, where it did not meet reserve despite 25 bids up to $6,300. It’s now for sale in Salem, Oregon for $9,900 here on Craigslist.
