9-26 Update: This Rickman Metisse Triumph was pulled off eBay the first time, but is now back up for sale with bidding up to $15,001 and the reserve not yet met
As you probably know, the Rickman brothers were famous for making incredible frames that you could stuff all kinds of engines into. While they were better known for their initial off-road work, they eventually expanded into road racing bikes, starting with Triumph twin powerplants. This Rickman Metisse Triumph is a later street-legal version of the road racers with some of the coolest documentation I’ve seen included in a sale in a long time.
No matter what the engine (in this case, a 650cc twin from a Triumph T120), Rickman bikes are adorned with the beautiful nickel-plated, hand-built frame. For more on the Rickman story, check out this write-up from Classic British Motorcycles.
This specific Rickman Metisse Triumph (VIN: R321T12025668) has just 828 miles and is highly original. It’s being offered by the third owner who includes an absolutely tremendous amount of documentation. No matter what, you should go to the auction listing just to see the included documentation that’s been scanned into the auction. So cool.
