We have featured several BSA Victors over the years here. They are always a crowd favorite, and could serve as the poster-boy for the original “dual-sport” concept – take a race bike, add lights, a mirror and pretty it up a bit, and go! By 1969, the problems with the original 441 had been sorted, and the bike was a fun, agile rider that had retained it’s classic good looks. It still vibrated at high revs, but, unless you were racing, it wasn’t necessary to flog it to enjoy the experience. There are a couple or great writeups on the reality of owning a 441 here in Motorcycle Classics and also in Motorcycle-USA.com.
This 1969 BSA Victor Special is a great example of the breed. The seller claims it is all original, and it certainly looks good in the few pictures supplied. Most 45+ year-old bikes would show at least some rust or abuse, but this bike must have been lovingly cared for to be in this condition.
The speedo shows only 4,588 miles. I would love to know more of the history of this bike. If you were looking for a classic big single, that would be fun for short blasts, and might actually hold it’s value, I don’t think you could go wrong with a bike like this.
You can find this BSA 441 Victor for sale for $8,000 in Powder Springs, Georgia here on Craigslist.
