The seller of this Italian scooter says he’s never seen a Tarbo Sport 50 before. Hell – I’ve never even HEARD of it before, which is why I’m so glad to share it with you.
This model of Tarbo was not officially exported to the United States – it’s a TR350, though that name is confusing as it utilizes a 50cc Jawa two-stroke engine that was good for a claimed 5 horsepower. Top speed was 45 miles per hour thanks to a 3-speed transmission (and probably a little bit of the usual exaggeration that Italians had with manufacturer specs at the time). Either way, you’d have to achieve that top speed on tiny 10″ wheels which would probably keep you in check.
The seller of this example says that it’s complete and all original with a numbers matching engine. He also says it’s “perfect for zipping around city traffic” except for the fact that the motor has seized, so you’ll need to do some work before this crazy scoot is ready to ride again. Still, it’ll be worth it to someone who wants an incredibly rare two-wheeler.
