Between 1969 and 1970, Alta built trials motorcycles by converting Suzuki road bikes with 118cc two-stroke engines. From what I can tell, these were the only production motorcycles to come out of Wales.
There isn’t much information out there on the Alta, but it apparently featured a dual-range gearbox and used a monocque frame in ’69 and a tubular frame in ’70. Approximately 200-250 were built before increases in production costs were too significant and Alta shut down.
This example (VIN: AL154) is obviously number 154 that was built and it’s being offered by the 2nd owner who has just given it a frame up restoration including painting the frame silver. The sale includes the original fiberglass tank and an additional modified steel tank. The engine got a fresh bore with the piston from a Suzuki X6.
