1970 Muskin El Gato

Post Listing Update: This El Gato got no interest at the BIN of $900.

Marketed as a “Midi-Cycle”, the Muskin El Gato wanted to separate itself from minibikes by completely making up a new category of motorcycles. Utilizing a 80cc Fuji two-stroke (predecessor to all the Hodaka units that would soon make their way to US shores), this bike had 6.6 horsepower with a four-speed transmission and a weight of 125 pounds, which was indeed much larger than competing minibikes. Seat height was 27 inches, so it was small enough for kids, but big enough for adults, helping it’s claim of being an “All Family” bike. This specific El Gato is quite original, and though it hasn’t been started in a while, the engine turns over freely. Replace the incorrect gas cap and the missing foot peg rubber, and you’ll have a rare, fun, 40+ year old playbike!
