The “B” stands for “Bicylindrico”, as this MV Agusta utilizes a 250cc four-stroke twin cylinder motor.
The 250B was available in light blue or red with a black frame. Either way, you’d get a 246.6cc motor that produced 19 horsepower at 7,800 rpm, 22mm carbs, and a 5-speed transmission. It weighed just 313 pounds. Claimed top speed was 84 miles per hour, and it returned approximately 42 miles per gallon assuming you weren’t constantly trying to hit the top speed.
This example is coming out of the Michael Harper collection – he’s sold some fantastic small Italian bikes over the years and this one, like most of his, are hard to find in the US. He notes that it’s in “good running and riding collection” and that the odometer shows 1,581 kilometers but true mileage is unknown. It’s sold on a California title.
