1971 Moto Guzzi Ercole

In 3 Wheels, Italy by AbhiLeave a Comment

The Moto Guzzi Ercole (Italian for Hercules) is a fantastic vintage three-wheeler typically used as a shop/farm runabout. Able to carry nearly a ton, this bike truly earned the nickname. On either side of the rider there are optional fold out seats, upping capacity to 3 total individuals, and the bed works hydraulically.

The Hercules is powered by a 500cc OHV 4 stroke thumper, with a 5-speed transmission that also included a reverse gear. Said transmission was shifted in a H-pattern, like a car. The ignition was by magneto, and the payload was an impressive 1,800 pounds. This giant hunk of metal was able to get up to 35 mph, but just barely. Some of these bikes got a factory cab from Guzzi (like the one offered today), while others got an accessory cab made by an Italian firm named Ariasi, which came with an interesting fabric roof.

The seller of this example unfortunately has barely anything to say about his specific trike, simply noting that it’s in “very good original condition” with “no rust or damages” and then listing some specs about the model in general.
