Also known as the Trailhopper, the Suzuki MT-50 was a mini bike designed to fit in the trunk of your car with swing-in handlebars and a removable front wheel.
Distinctive styling surrounded a 3 horsepower engine that was mated to a 3-speed transmission. The tank was about half a gallon, so according to period advertisements “it would only cost about a quarter to fill it.”
This example was restored in 2022 – the seller says that the only non OEM parts are the petcock and ignition switch. It “has won awards at some of the most prestigious vintage bike shows in the USA , this bike has won awards at Barber Vintage Festival, Riding into History Concours d’ Elegance and Dania Beach Vintage Bike Show.” The seller notes that the “securing knobs” on the forks do not work correctly and it comes with a rare factory special tool kit in the original case.
