The Triumph Tiger was the little brother of the Bonneville, born again in ’71 with the new oil-in-frame chassis. Here’s an example that’s cosmetically clean thanks to the fact that it has spent the last 20 years in storage.
The Tiger was remarkably similar to the Bonneville. The 650cc twin got two carbs in the Bonnie, but only one carb in the Tiger. The Tiger’s engine was good for 48 horsepower, propelling the bike to 103 miles per hour. Want to learn more? Check out this excellent writeup from Real Classic about how the Tiger was born.
