Post Listing Update: This Ducati did not meet reserve with 3 bids up to $15,000 on eBay.
I’m not sure I’d want to touch its $20,000 Buy It Now asking price, but there’s no question this iconic Ducati is a beauty. The first of the L-twins, the 750 GT was manufactured from 1971-1974. Designed by Ducati legend Fabio Taglioni, its engine would go on to be a defining characteristic of Ducatis for decades to come. This bike also laid the foundation for legendary models like the 750 Sport, 750SS, and 900SS.
Despite providing the building blocks for sporting greatness, the 750 GT was more of a touring-focused machine. Its air-cooled, 748cc 90-degree L-twin (or V-twin at a weird angle, however you want to say it) produced 57-60 horsepower, depending on the source of your information.
The 750GT hit the scene just two years after Honda’s CB750 had arrived to change motorcycling forever. Modern reviewers give the edge to the Ducati, despite the fact its engine was nominally less powerful. “The Ducati feels much more powerful than it seems on paper,” observed The Motorcycle Broker in 2023. “It handles and stops much better than the Honda.”
The last time a 750 GT appeared on the pages of Bike-urious was four years ago. That bike ultimately sold for $27,500. But it was in pristine condition. This one is certainly gorgeous but shows some age on close inspection. Additionally, there’s uncertainty about mileage. It runs, though, and “rides beautifully,” according to the seller. If it’s your thing, maybe $20,000 is just right. You can find it for sale in Grass Lake, Michigan, here on eBay.
