Found in the 60s, Hodaka was a joint Japanese/American company that produced about $150k bikes between ’64 and ’78. Some riders believe that Hodaka started the trail bike revolution. Others may disagree with that, but no one can dispute that with names like the Road Toad, Dirt Squirt, Super Rat, and Combat Wombat, Hodaka had some of the best names in the business. This Wombat was apparently a barn find in non-running condition. The seller rebuilt the engine, gave it a new sprocket, chain, carb, tires, air filter, and more. Impressively, the only cosmetic restoration that was done was buffing the chrome – everything else is original. The seller then ‘christened’ the bike with some time at Rampart Range, where he/she said it ran beautifully.
