Post-Sale Update: This Ambassador was snagged for the BIN of $5,000.
Produced for just a few years, the Ambassador was never as well known as bikes like the Eldorado (which replaced this bike). Built to target the American market, MG saw a way to compete with Harley with a 757cc variant of the venerable V-Twin.
While most people associate it with police/touring duty, the Ambassador has been the base for some interesting builds like this one by Benjie’s Cafe Racers. The 748cc V-Twin was fed by two 30mm Dell’Orto carbs and produced 70 horsepower, which had to motivate a bike that weighed about 500 pounds.
This Ambassador (VIN: 23350) has 25,000 miles and has new tires and K&N filters to go with a rebuilt transmission and carbs. The paint is not original and the bike also has aftermarket rear shocks and Lafranconi exhausts which have been opened up a little bit.
Find it for sale in Highland Park, Illinois with bidding up to $3,500 and the reserve not yet met or a BIN of $5,000
