The OSSA MAR (Mick Andrews Replica) was built after OSSA hired the English rider to design and ride a new trials bike – he went on to win two consecutive European Trials Championships and three consecutive Scottish Six Days Trials with it. In 1973, Andrews moved to Yamaha, but OSSA kept producing this bike into the late 70s and it was highly competitive.
I find these (especially the Mark I generation) to be one of the prettiest trials bikes ever built. Like all trials bikes, they didn’t weigh much – this tips the scales at just 210 pounds, which meant the 244cc 2-stroke engine didn’t have much mass to motivate.
This example is being offered by someone who apparently does not understand what ‘showroom condition’ means, because despite the claim this bike has been repainted, the front brake shoes and high beam bulb need to be replaced (though both are included in the sale), and the speedometer doesn’t work. Semantics aside, this is a nice looking example of a nifty trials bike. Find this Mick Andrews Rep for sale in Randolph, Vermont with an unmet opening bid of $2,000
