Post Sale Update: This Penton sold for $4,200 after 43 bids on eBay.
John Penton and KTM started their partnership with the 125 ISDT Six Days, and once it became obvious that the two companies had some financial potential, they expanded the lineup to offer multiple displacements. The smallest of the offerings was the 100cc Berkshire.
For more on the Penton/KTM relationship, check out this article from KTM themselves. They were relatively unpopular as there wasn’t much of a price difference to jump up to the 125 – still, the 100 two-stroke produced a healthy 16 horsepower to move 198 pounds of bike. The Enduro version weighed 12 pounds more and cost $1,075 (compared to the $995 MSRP of the MX). Ceriani front forks were paired with Girling shocks to handle suspension duties, and the power was put through a 6-speed transmission.
This example (VIN: 2065507) was acquired by the Route 66 Vintage Iron Motorcycle Museum back in 2011 has it’s been on display since. It was restored and is “ready to ride.” Find this Penton for sale in Miami, Oklahoma with bidding up to $4,000
