In 1969, Suzuki unveiled the successor to their popular Super Six T20 – the T250 Hustler. It took all the good parts of the T20 and added sleek styling in addition to an upgraded motor. The original was more newsworthy, but the T250 was arguably a better bike.
Basic specifications included 32 horsepower and a top speed of 90 miles per hour. It weighed 322 pounds and the MSRP was $699. For more information on the Hustler, check out this story from Motorcycle Classics.
This example is said to be in excellent original condition though it does not come with a title. The motor was given an “in-frame refurbishment” in 2010, and that was complemented with new tires, new front brake shoes, a new chain, and more. The bike also has Euro style (lower) bars but the originals are included. The seller notes that the bike runs great but it will need a battery and the carbs should be rejetted for sea level elevation. I’ve spoken with the seller, and he’s explained that he got the bike from a friend who did not have the title, and that seller was told that “the bike was bought at the big swap meet during Mid Ohio Vintage races some 30 years ago. The guy had a boat load of 60’s-70’s 2 stroke Suzi’s in storage and when his health deteriorated the family had to move the bikes. The majority of them were purchased by a gentleman from Finland if memory serves, and he packed a full size shipping container and shipped them home. I was able to get this one and I’ll bet the original title might now reside in a file cabinet in Scandinavia…”
The lack of title is a bummer, but the sale price makes up for it – find this Hustler for sale here on Craigslist for $1,600 in Camarillo, California.
