This rare step through is a Yamaha U7E, and in the US it was only available for one year. I’ve never seen one before, and I even struggled to find reliable sources of information for basic specs. Do any of you have experience with this little scoot? And do you think it’s cuter than a Honda Cub?
According to this site, which isn’t very confidence inspiring, the U7E weighs 170 pounds and it’s powered by a 4.9 horsepower two-stroke single that could get the U7E just north of 50 miles per hour. The seller notes that the 70cc motor has an electric starter and it’s paired with a 3 speed transmission with an automatic clutch.
This example has 2,166 miles on the odometer and it looks to be in decent shape. The sale includes the original books, so you can find this step-through Yamaha for sale in New Tripoli, Pennsylvania for $1,695 here on Craigslist.
