Post-Listing Update: This Maico 400 was pulled from eBay, final sale price unknown.
Despite the reputation for poor reliability, by 1973 the Maico 400 was the top choice of open class riders in the US. Because of that, for those in the know, the 1974.5 Maico 400 is one of the most sought-after vintage MX bikes of all time. Here’s a four speed version for sale with a whole bunch of good stuff as extras.
While this bike was produced during Maico’s heyday, it would less than a decade until the company filed for bankruptcy in 1983.
This beauty comes equipped with Works Shocks, fully rebuilt wheels, a Circle F pipe, and Renthal bars, amongst many other things.
Purists take note though – this bike has a 1975.5 frame instead. While this does bring some improvements, it’s of course not original.
Find it here on eBay with the reserve not yet met at $2,026 (or BIN at $4,500) in Rutherford, New Jersey.
