The Laverda 750 SF2 was not particularly impressive on paper: just 65 horsepower out of 744cc at a time when the “Superbike” category was getting into full swing. But it’s an attractive bike – some think it’s better looking than its bigger brother triple. For more information on the SF, check out this article from Motorcycle Classics.
This SF2 (VIN: 15778) has received a custom restoration which features cams from the SFC and Ross HP Racing pistons. As one of the early ’74 bikes, it still has 35mm forks with drum brakes – later that year Laverda started throwing 280mm disc brakes up front. Other notable features of this bike include Borrani wheels, piggyback Marzocchi shocks, and a 2-into-1 megaphone. THe seller notes that you may want to upgrade to electronic ignition (doesn’t that sound a little ominous?) and that the gauges are faded and could be restored.
