Post-Sale Update: This TL250 sold for $3,600 after 33 bids on eBay.
One of the few four-stroke trials bikes of the 70s, the Honda TL250 was developed with tremendous input from Sammy Miller – the license plate of the prototype was SAM 1N. Production started in ’75, and approximately 4,000 bikes were eventually sold, most in the US. The 248cc single produced 16 horsepower. For more information on the TL250, check out this article from Only Trials. Here’s what looks to be a fantastic example of the breed that is being offered by the original owner, who acquired it in May of 1976. The bike comes with a light kit, larger rear sprocket, and a Honda front number plate which is still in the unopened factory packaging. The seller suggests that it’s one of the best ten TL250s in the country. Who knows if that’s true, but it does look great.
