1976 Harley-Davidson XLH Sportster Bi-Centennial Liberty Edition

In America, Cruiser by AbhiLeave a Comment

Post Listing Update: This Harley was pulled off of eBay, final sale price unknown.

In 1976, Harley released a limited run of bikes called the Liberty Edition to commemorate America’s bicentennial. Liberty Editions were built across several models – I’ve featured a similarly-prepped Super Glide and a FLH before.

From what I can tell, the differences were only cosmetic with black metallic paint and special decals on the fairing and tank. Otherwise, this was a regular XLH.

This example has 11,830 miles, and the seller states that the clutch drags a bit “due to the bike sitting for over two years.” He also says that the bike was repainted “but the graphics are original and were never taken off the bike” – the current paint isn’t as metallic as it should be.
