Post Sale Update: sold for $5,555 after 34 bids on eBay in Moscow, Pennsylvania.

The obvious evolution of the KZ900, the Kawasaki KZ1000 was another straight line brute that got a heavier crankshaft along with the displacement bump. You could get the bike with chain or shaft drive, but either form could top 130 miles per hour. They were very popular police bikes – you may remember that this was the real star of CHiPs. For more information on the KZ series, check out KZ-1000.net.

This example (VIN: KTZ00A015718) has approximately 22,000 miles and it was recently given a minor service with an oil change, new air filter, spark plugs, and tires/tubes. The exhaust was replaced with a 4-1 Mac header, and that’s said to be the only aftermarket piece. The seller notes that the “age is showing” as there’s some scrapes and chrome pitting, he calls it “normal patina for her age and does not detract from the overall look of this bike.”
