10-22-24 Update: I featured this bike last year when it was on eBay and the big question was, “what’s the reserve?” Well, it’s now up on Facebook with a fixed price so I guess we can answer that question…find this Ferrari-powered moto for sale in San Diego, California for $29,500 here on Facebook Marketplace.
Built by Andreas Georgeadas in 1978, this motorcycle utilizes a ’68 Ferrari Dino 206 V6 engine (all-aluminum). It’s also one of several Ferrari-powered bikes he has built, in addition to a V12-powered CBX!
Mr. Georgeadas has a very interesting motorcycling history that involves getting paid with a Matchless G50 in exchange for working at his father’s restaurant for two years and racing at the Isle of Man – you can read a bit about his history here.
Between 1978 and 1998, Andreas built three motorcycles powered by Ferrari engines. The bike featured in this listing was the first one – it was succeeded by a supercharged Dino engine and a 308 Ferrari V8-powered bike! It appears that it may have had more bodywork in the past, and here are some great photos of the next bike with the supercharged Dino engine.
Per the seller, this “runs beautifully and has been garaged since it’s creation.” Obviously the engine is the star of the show – I wish the seller included a video of how it sounds – but a lot of what you see around the engine is from a Honda CBX.
