This Guzzi was built “with the intent of a track bike for classic events”, and it’s got the bonus of being registered for the street in California. Notice anything interesting? It’s got a ’95 Sport 1100 engine stuffed into a ’79 Tonti Le Mans frame!
The engine has less than 3,000 miles on it and it works as a stressed member – the seller says it’s “Guzzi’s fastest engine in their stiffest frame. It corners on rails. It’s lighter than a Sport 1100- and breathes better than both bikes. This thing is a monster.” Because it was built as a track bike, some creature comforts have been omitted (weirdly including the rear brake?) but other goodies have been added – Agostini rearset, Works Performance shocks setup for a 165 pound rider, Dr. John headers, Leo Vince SBK collector and tailpipe, and more.
