Post Sale Update: This LeMans sold for $7,977 after 7 bids on eBay in Pasadena, California.

The successor to the legendary 850cc Le Mans, the Moto Guzzi LeMans II CX100 was created to satisfy the American mantra of “no replacement for displacement” and as competition to the BMW R100RS. Guzzi took the engine and lower fairings from the 1000SP sport tourer, and threw them on the LeMans. Unfortunately, the bike was slower by some accounts, and it’s been since relegated to an odd footnote in MG history.

Looks like this seller loves his/her Guzzis!

According to Ian Falloon in his “Moto Guzzi Sport & Le Mans Bible”, just 353 of these bikes were built. For more information, check out this article from Motorcycle Classics on the CX100.

This specific Moto Guzzi LeMans II CX100 (VIN: VU111139) is said to be original “except for the fairing and lowers which were repainted to repair some stone chips and general shoddiness of the original paint and fiberglass.” It’s also got K&N air filters as well as Dyna ignition/wires. “A small dent on the lower right muffler from moving around shop and some tarnished fittings are only slight imperfections on this 41 year old motorcycle.”
