Post Listing Update: Despite 23 bids up to $3,050 on eBay, this Kramer did not meet reserve.
I always love featuring motorcycles I’ve never heard of before – I get to learn and share at the same time. Here’s another opportunity for me to learn, with the Kramer 400. Adolph Kramer was a dirt bike tuner and builder extraordinaire who created his own bikes but also built a limited run of racebikes in partnership with Maico – check out this article about the latter on Superhunky. Or for more on Kramer Motorcycles, check out this site.
The bike in front of you today is a 1980 Kramer 400, which is equipped with Ohlines suspension, Marzocchi forks, Dunlop tires, and Magura levers. This specific example comes with original plastics and plenty of new parts. There are a couple of flaws – a crack in the front rim and in the pinch bolt area of a fork leg, and there’s some scratches in the plastics. But if you’ve been looking for a Kramer in the US (where they were never officially imported), you don’t have many choices.
