Post-Listing Update: This 500 Sport did not attract any bids on eBay.
Most riders think of the 3 1/2 when they hear Moto Morini, but the firm was also known for their 500 Sport that was produced a decade later…to very little fanfare. What was once a classically beautiful motorcycle evolved into something hunkier as the Italian company tried to compete with bikes coming out of Japan.
The Sei-V (six speed V-twin) produced 46 horsepower, and is cheaper than its predecessor due to the relative lack of popularity. For more information, check out this article from RealClassic, which compares the 3 1/2 to the 500. This example (VIN: W04028) has just 4,828 miles and it’s being offered “for the true connoisseur of fine Italian motorcycles.” It’s got the rare 3 piece fairing, aftermarket exhaust, and swapped out handlebars from the Strada (more comfortable), though the original parts will be included.
