I’ve featured plenty of bikes from this seller (who somehow always has his/her hands on exquisite Italian machinery), many of which have been Bimotas that featured Italian frames/bodywork around Japanese engines. This time around we’re going with the British/Japanese combo of the Rickman CRE 1000 Predator, an odd sport-touring bike from a machine most people associate with expressions of light weight engineering.
This is not a pretty bike, but it’s definitely interesting enough to be featured here. This example has 7,000 miles over two owners (the first of whom used to run the Rickman Owners Club (which eventually became the Street Specials Motorcycle Club and features a modified Z1000J motor that was built by Maitland Racing. A Wiseco 1105 big bore kit and other goodies helped this engine dyno at 118 horsepower. The only flaw seems to be that the speedometer needs to be fixed – considering it’s a standard Kawi unit I’m surprised it hasn’t been addressed pre-sale.
