1981 Honda CR450R

Sold for just one year, the Honda CR450R was…not very good. In fact, Rick Sieman of SuperHunky called it one of the 10 worst dirt bikes of all time in this article, with excerpts like this:

“It shook the steering head like someone removed the bearings, and tracked like a buffalo on steroids. The front number plate looked like a hangnail, and the suspension was a mass of confused Showa leftovers that didn’t like each other.”

Honda apparently agreed, and within a year they had replaced this with the much better CR480R. Still, here’s an example with just 20 miles that looks almost new. The seller claims the only non-original aspect is the tires, and it comes with the factory Hondaline stand. It does look like there’s some bubbling of the tank decals and some faded paint on the engine, but this is a very clean example of a very rare bike – just don’t say I told you it was inherently a “good” one.
