Americans were given the CX500 in a few flavors – the base model, the Deluxe, and of course, the Turbo. But in other markets, Honda also offered up the “Sports”, which had some European flair.
The Sports model was introduced alongside the Turbo and they shared several upgrades – TRAC anti-dive forks, air shock, 18″ wheels, and better brakes. The Sports got an obvious restyle as well as a fuel gauge, plastic fenders, and a square headlight. When Honda evolved the CX500 into the CX650, the “Sports” became known as the Eurosport (which is why some people mistakenly refer to this model as the Eurosport as well).
The seller of this example (VIN: CX5002041151) purchased it while living in the UK, and imported it to the US during a move. He’s had it for almost 18 years. It has 20,628 miles and is said to be in “oustanding mechanical and cosmetic condition.” The seller restored it 14 years ago and is all correct except for the exhaust, which is “unobtainable” and was replaced with a standard CX500 unit. With the red bodywork and the motor, if you squint REAL hard it almost looks like a baby Moto Guzzi Le Mans Mk 3, no?
