Post Sale Update: This Mirage sold for $11,100 after 30 bids on eBay.

Imported from South Africa in the early 90s, this Laverda Mirage is still rocking the international license plate. The giant aftermarket fairing and shortened exhaust detract significantly from the originality (and in my opinion, the styling), but I’m hoping the latter sounds greats with the famous 180 degree crankshaft-driven triple. It’s had some recent work to get it roadworthy for someone who wants to tour in classic style.

It can be confusing for non-Laverda experts to understand the differences between the Jota and the Mirage, but the 1,200cc motor that powered both of them near the end of their production runs had a notable change in personality from the earlier 1,000cc powerplant. The new motor was designed to deliver a similar amount of performance but in a much more refined way – this was especially felt with the cockpit fairing of the Mirage TS. This example (VIN: 3444) has just over 25,000 miles on the odometer and it was recently serviced as the bike had been sitting for some time. The work included rebuilt carbs, rebuilt Brembo brake system, new ignition wires and more. Find this Mirage for sale in Miami, Florida with bidding up to $5,100

Note that this bike was up for sale in April of 2017 – it did not meet reserve despite 16 bids up to $11,550
