1984 Honda Ascot VT500

In Japan, Standard by Abhi1 Comment

Named after Ascot Park, a former flat-track raceway in Los Angeles, the Honda Ascot (also known as the VT500) was a V-Twin standard that was styled after flat-track bikes. I always thought the front headlight looked silly, and in the process I unfairly over-looked the Ascot. It didn’t sell well, but owners are passionate about this bike – an excellent Motorcycle Classics article suggests that it’s a “tight handling, urgent machine with seamless power and acceleration.”

This Ascot (VIN: JH2PC1008EM103315) is 100% original and has just 9,282 miles. The seller claims it could use a tune up as in the last 6-8 months it’s been started every week, but not run. I see a bag on the front fender (along with a sticker), but otherwise this bike seems pretty much stock.
