Guzzi’s V35 doesn’t get much attention – it was introduced in 1977 alongside the V50 as Italy had new licensing and tax categories. Three years later the Imola II was introduced, gaining 26mm carbs, a new seat, chrome indicators, new silencers, and points ignition as part of the update.
Either generation of the Imola is hard to find in the US – the seller suggests this might be the only Imola II currently in the US. Basic specifications include a 346cc V-Twin that produces 35 horsepower, a top speed of just under 100 miles per hour, and a wet weight of 395 pounds. Ignoring the engine, the Imola II shared a lot of components with bigger Guzzi V-Twins, so you know the components were up to the task and you still got that interesting Italian styling.
This example (VIN: PS12416) is only sold on the bill of sale because the seller (a noted local collector) was unable to register it in California (though it is legal from a federal standpoint). It’s just going to be one of those things where your enjoyment of this bike will depend on your state of residence. The odometer shows about 34,100 miles and the bike is claimed to be in good running and riding condition with a new battery. There’s some cosmetic wear and there’s cracks in the right mirror, lower fairing, and taillight lens, but those aren’t dealbreakers and you probably won’t see another one of these for sale for a long time in the US.
