Over on Iconic we’ve got one of the cheapest RZ500s that I’ve seen in a long time – it’s already met reserve so it’ll find a new home!
Yamaha’s RZ500 (also known as the RD500LC) was a two-stroke rocket that was kept out of America thanks to EPA regulations. It was only built between ’84 and ’86 and it was sold as a road bike race rep of the Grand Prix racer YZR500. The 50 degree V-4 engine yielded over 80 horsepower through a 6-speed transmission. For more information, check out RZRD500.com.
Manufactured in April 1984, this example is VIN: JYA52X00XFA000174. It was originally sold in Canada and the owner has had the bike since May 2004 (it was imported to the US in 2003). The odometer shows 35,640 kilometers (22,145 miles). It’s relatively stock but it’s got a jet kit and Jolly Moto pipes.
Find this RZ500 for sale in Holland, Michigan with bidding up to $12,800 and the reserve already met here on Iconic Motorbike Auctions.
