The fourth of five generations of Guzzi’s iconic LeMans, the Mark IV got a bit of a reputation as a weird handler due to the 16″ front wheel. Part of the problem was that Guzzi didn’t change any other aspects of the steering geometry of the bike to compensate for the two-inch reduction in front wheel diameter. This example has a 18″ front wheel (Guzzi started offering it as a factory option in 1987) so you shouldn’t have any problems at all.
For more on the Mk IV and why it may not deserve the scorn it got about the smaller front wheel, check out this story on The Bike Shed Times.
This example has 27,000 miles and it’s been sensibly upgraded with a Corbin seat, K&N air filters, protection for the heads, and Dyna ignition. In addition, the owner’s manual and the original 16″ front rim is included (but I’d keep it off the bike if I was you). Find this LeMans for sale in Northeast Connecticut for $5,000 here on Craigslist.
