Post Listing Update: This LeMans did not meet reserve with bidding up to $4,017.09.
The ’86 Moto Guzzi LeMans 1000 was one of five generations of the LeMans – it’s also the most ‘dangerous’ one as it’s the generation where Guzzi retrofitted a 16″ front rim instead of the usual 18″ in a quest to improve handling – except they didn’t adjust any other aspect of the geometry of the bike.
The 978cc V-Twin engine produced 73 horsepower and was capable of 50 miles per gallon. 1,179 of these bikes were built in 1986. For more information, check out this article from Vintage Motorcycles Online. This example (VIN: ZGUVVAVV9GM100261) has 23,295 miles looks to be in good shape except for a scratch on the left valve side cover and fairing. The only missing original part is the air box.
