In 1985, Cagiva was the biggest motorcycle manufacturer in Italy – though they were primarily moving small street bikes and mopeds. That year, they acquired Ducati to increase their presence in the big bike market and one of the results of that acquisition was the Alazzurra, an evolution of the Pantah. The model got a fully-faired variant in 1986 but it’s hard to find examples nowadays with the lower fairing in good shape like this example.
The 650 V-Twin engine produced 55 horsepower (less than the competition) and the bike weighed 424 pounds dry (also less than the competition). All of that translated to a 0-60mph time of 4.6 seconds. Want to learn more? Check out this review from Motorcycle Classics.
This bike (VIN: ZCG1CA2K8FB000538) has 6,475 miles and it’s on offer from the second owner. Recent work includes a new timing belt, starter solenoid, rear master cylinder, battery, tires, and rebuilt carbs. You’ll also get a bunch of spare parts, the owners manual, parts book, and a copy of the shop manual.
Paint in exceptionally good condition. Lower fairings kept off the bike for everyday use.
