Thanks to the motor from a Honda XR600, this Yamaha TZ250 is ready to compete in AHRMA Soudns of Singles 1…the same class I raced in with my Kramer. Nudge, nudge.

In 1988, Yamaha released the TZ250U, which featured reversed cylinders and a cassette transmission. That’s obviously less relevant now as this bike has a motor swap. Per the seller, it’s a “mildly-built XR600 motor” that’s been bumped up to 629cc and features a Megacycle cam, 44m Mikuni carb, and custom exhaust. Other upgrades includes a thumb brake, upside-down forks from a ’91 TZ250, and a Penske rear shock. Light weight with a very torquey single – this one could be a lot of fun!
