1989 Honda VTR250 Interceptor

Sold in the US for three years, the Honda VTR250 has become a cult classic for riders that love small bikes. The liquid cooled 250cc engine was paired with a six-speed transmission, and interestingly, an inboard front disc – though by 1990 the front brake would change to the industry standard.

If you want something different than the usual Ninja 250/300, this is truly a great all-arounder and it will become a classic. You could attain 90 mpg if you babied it, but still do 95mph if you needed it. Some might consider the riding position to be a bit cramped, but it’s very versatile, and it checks off the right boxes for a little bike. It’s light, nimble, and in a very 80’s way, good looking to boot.

This example has 10,600 miles and the seller claims it’s in “amazing condition for a 29-year old classic.” It looks to me like it’s missing a pink stripe on either side, but I also believe that many owners pulled that specific decal off.

What this year of the VTR250 is supposed to look like, I believe. Note the pink decal on the rear, which the bike for sale is missing.

Find this baby Interceptor for sale here on Craigslist in the northwest suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota for $1,500.
