Right now you can walk into a Honda or Yamaha dealership and get a modern Africa Twin or Super Tenere. But in the US, the same couldn’t have been said a couple of decades ago. You can occasionally find ’90s examples of the AT and ST thanks to grey market imports, but the latter is much harder to source.
The 750 was built between 1989 and 1994 and it was quite popular in Europe. The parallel twin motor features 5-valve heads and produces 69 horsepower / 49 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to a 6.9 gallon tank and comfortable riding position, the Super Tenere was a great option for solo touring and light duty dirt. This example was imported by the seller six years ago – it’s offered with roughly 13,000 miles and a New Hampshire title. He unfortunately doesn’t have much else to say about it, though he correctly notes that they are rare in the US.
