In 1992, Ducati took their 900 Supersport and added several choice extras to create a limited edition called the Ducati Superlight. The following year they backtracked a bit and removed several of the goodies, leaving just the solo seat, composite Marvic wheels, and fully floating rear brake to differentiate the limited edition from its less exclusive brother. Still, it’s an exclusive version of the 900SS, one of the most beloved bikes of the 90s.
The 900SL featured a 80 horsepower, two valve v-twine engine with the desmodromic valves that Ducati is known for. Originally, Ducati only planned to released 500 examples; over time, that number grew to above 900, with 300 yellow variants making their way stateside.
This example (VIN: ZDM1LC4N3PB006588) has been with the owner since 2012. It has 11,524 miles and is #948 of the production run. Upgrades include a Metmachex swingarm, Corbin seat, additional fuel shut off valve, and a K&N air filter. There’s a bit of corrosion throughout but it was recently serviced with a carb clean, brake fluid flush, oil change, and new battery.
