Reviewers like to say that this is the last ‘old-school’ Bimota, where they took a fantastic Japanese engine and put it in an exquisite Italian chassis. Not that Bimota still isn’t doing the whole engine transplant thing now, but some would argue that you’re no longer getting a bike that truly outhandles the competition anymore. But when this bike was new 20 years ago, it was ahead of the game.
Power was handled by a Suzuki GSX-R 1100 motor putting out 154 horsepower thanks to a Bimota exhaust, and the handling was helped by specifications including an Ohlins shock, Paioli forks, and plenty of carbon fiber enveloping the powerplant from a Suzuki GSX-R 1100. For more on the SB6, check out this list from Visor Down, where they proclaim this bike to be one of the 6 sexiest Bimota’s (that’s some excellent company to be in) ever made.
This SB6 (VIN: ZESS1254637611003) has 11,700 miles. It’s got rebuilt front forks and what I assume is a custom paint job because I haven’t seen anything like it before – but someone please correct me if I’m wrong!
