Producer of big bikes with lovely, torquey V-Twin engines, Guzzi is best known for cruisers and standard bikes. But the Moto Guzzi Sport 1100 was a beautiful deviation from the norm.
Visually, the Moto Guzzi Sport 1100 stood out from its Japanese competition because the proportions of plastics to engine made it look so low-slung and broad-shouldered – the middle linebackers of the sportsbike world. This is one of the earlier models, which comes with gigantic 40mm Dell’Orto’s instead of electronic fuel ignition (denoted as the 1100i). The engine produced 90 horsepower and the 5-speed transmission was geared very tall, so you could hit nearly 140. This also means that when you’re in-town, you’re only really using 1st and 2nd. Specs include a straight-cut gearbox, Marzocchi M1 forks, WP rear shock, and a lovely twin cylinder sound (https://www.youtube.com/embed/4j3R2R2DbFk)
This example (VIN: ZGUKEAKE3SM100062) has roughly 23k miles, and the seller say sthat it looks “just about perfect when standing away 5 feet from it.” It’s stock except for a Staintune exhaust and bar end weights. Everything is said to work and it’s got recent batteries and Pirelli tires.
